Heyy, do you ever listen to an album because it's perfectly matched with your feelings at that time, and then you still stay with it for many years later? Not just because it reminds you of that time but also all the songs just perfectly describe how you feel. For me, it's the Melodrama album of Lorde. I intended to write about it in the summer of 2017 when bad stuff happened with me. I listened to it crazily on the beaches of Bali that summer. But surprisingly, I still stick with it, still listen to it every week until now, and always in my top fave.

I guess one of the reasons is Lorde is close to my age, and what she felt when writing the songs, I feel the same from time to time. It's the perfect teenage anthem about love. How you grow up and have your first love then first break up. How you perceive love and commitment. And eventually how you understand yourself better after all that stuff.

Even though now, I feel different than the emotions described in the album (which were more like bitter). Now I feel loved, I feel safe and peaceful. I feel more emotionally mature. But these days, I have girl friends who went through these relationship problems. And I want to tell them that it is alright girl. Things like that happens all the time. What you gotta do now is find music or anything that will help you go through these tough moments. And months later, when you eventually find peace with yourself, you will think back of these moments. And realize that it was all a valuable experience. There was some fun in that.

Life is like a rollercoaster. You need to have downs to feel the ups. And what's important is you will learn, you will grow, and you will have good music with you through all the journey.
If you have a good album (or a playlist, or just a song) that sticks with you through a certain time of your life, please send me one! I would love to hear it!

Mucho lovo,

What caught me in this song is the lyrics "Our days and nights are / Perfumed with obsession / Half of my wardrobe / Is on your bedroom floor"
